Mine was this MCX Virtus. I knew barely anything about firearms at the time. So I talked to my brother in law that I wanted an AR-15 I said I wanted to buy once. We went to the gun store and he saw it on the wall. He got googly eyes and so I bought it. Although, now knowing it technically isn't an AR-15, I still love it.
My first firearm purchase feels like an eternity ago! I've bought and sold/ traded more guns AND cars in 10 years, than most people will in a lifetime. My first handgun that I purchased was a Stainless Steel Walther ppk/s from S&W. I even had the Sean Connery shoulder holster from the 007 movies lol.
Armalite Ar10. and parts to build a 1911 all purchased at the same time. I loved both. It was back in the day when not too many AR style rifles were seen at the range. It definitely got "eyeballs" when it came out of the case. And even more when folks realized how accurate those rifles are. It's really cool to see the evolution of the MSR in civilian ownership. As well as the evolution of handguns in general. What used to be just a handful of choices tor both is now endless. Especially the rise of firearm suppressors. Things are way better now for firearms, accessories and ammo. This has infuriated the anti gun people. The more they push, the more folks buy, train & carry. I love it.

1965, I was 12 years old. Mowed lawns all summer to save the money and had the old man buy it for me. 57 years ago.
My favorite shotgun ever.
